Iran movie ‘The Descendants’ has been awarded at the Longleaf Film Festival in North Carolina, US.
Yaser Talebi’s film won the Yonder Award for a non-North Carolina film at the third edition of the American film festival, which was held in the US city of Raleigh from May 12-13.
‘The Descendants’ is about the quiet life of Jacob and his wife. However, their life soon becomes entangled with worries about their son, Farrokh, after he leaves Iran and continues his studies abroad. Farrokh has lost contact with his parents, and now the father embarks on an Odyssey-like journey to find him.
The Iranian film has won several awards from international film festivals, including Best Film from Pembroke Taparelli, Best Film from Reel Rose Awards, and Best Actor from Franklin County.
The 2017 Longleaf Film Festival in North Carolina hosted over 60 films from across the globe.
